Green & Gold In My Life
©2009 Kathleen Montaigue
Walking on a road with no name, staring at the pavement
Having a bad day, don't want to talk about it.
Something makes me look up
Standing by the side of the road, you're there for me.
You wrap your arms around me,
We don't even need to speak.
I keep on walking but now, you're singing with me.
Bridge:
I'm wrapped up now in a world of shooting smiles,
You caught me just before I fell too far.
I lost you there for a while but here you are.
You're the green & gold in my life.
I've got to keep pushing through,
Can't do this on my own.
I just look up and see your smile.
The next turn on the left, it's my turn on the left.
And the new Road, it has a name.
It's a smaller Road now, it's a longer harder road now,
But in every Street light, my dreams shine.
Ch:
Back when I couldn't you, couldn't see your smile,
There was nothing to save me from the fog.
Then you shone a light into my mind as the tears fell.
The past six years are over, next are up to us.
The Road we're turning onto is an uphill climb,
But once we're at the top. ....
